AI Home Design: A Plain White Cottage to Key West Coastal

A plain white house is not a problem. It is a blank. Every part of this cottage was already in proportion, so the design work is dressing it, not fixing it.

What stayed the same

Count the openings. The dormer window, the door and the two porch windows are in the same positions in both frames. The standing seam metal roof keeps its pitch and its ridge, the porch keeps its four posts and its three steps, and the white picket fence is still visible at the edges of the frame. The neighbouring house on the left is unchanged, and so are the palms.

What changed

Every window gained louvered shutters in a soft mint. Gingerbread brackets and a scalloped fascia went onto the porch, with a pale blue beadboard ceiling above it and copper gutters along the eaves. The door is now coral with a six light window and brass lanterns either side. A porch swing sits on the left and a wicker chair on the right. The concrete path became crushed shell with a stone edge, and the lawn gave way to plumbago, ferns and a young palm.

Style notes

These designs are AI visualisations of one space, with the walls, windows and layout held constant. That is what Recasa does with a photo of your own space. Furniture and finishes are visualisations, not photographs of a finished build.
