Curb Appeal Ideas: A Brick Ranch, Before and After
A brick ranch has good bones and no personality. Curb appeal here is not a renovation. It is paint, one colour on the door, and a garden where the lawn used to be.
What stayed the same
The roofline, the two windows and the door opening are in the same positions. The concrete path and the two front steps are the same path and the same steps. The trees behind the house and the sidewalk in the foreground are unchanged, and the roof keeps its shingles and its overhang.
What changed
The red brick was painted a soft white. The door went deep blue, with a blue and white striped awning above it and a lantern on each side. A wooden bench sits under the left window and terracotta pots flank the door. The lawn on both sides of the path was replaced with beds of lavender, catmint, coneflower, hydrangea and grasses.
