Redesign My Room: A Plain Basement to a Green Panelled Den
The hardest space to redesign is one that already works. A basement with a sofa and a television is fine. Fine is why it never changes.
What stayed the same
The support column stands in the same spot, and the small window above the far wall is the same window. The ceiling height, the doorway on the right and the beige carpet are all unchanged. The sofa sits along the same left wall, and the far wall still holds the media.
What changed
Deep green board and batten wainscoting wraps the lower walls and the column. The grey sectional became an olive green sofa, and the recliner became a pair of red swivel chairs around a plaid ottoman. A green built in cabinet with two landscape panels replaced the television stand. Two rattan flush mounts replaced the recessed cans, a plaid rug went over the carpet, and framed art fills the walls.
