One Living Room, Three Styles
Choosing a style is easier when you can see the options in your own room instead of someone else's. Here is one real living room, unchanged, rendered three ways.
What stayed the same
The same grid window in all four frames, with the same house and tree across the street. The same ceiling, the same angled wall on the right, the same viewpoint. The moody version goes furthest: it keeps the original carpet and the original dark wood coffee table, right down to the coasters, the remote and the magazines still sitting on it.
What changed
Coastal paints everything soft white, swaps the carpet for pale wide plank, and dresses the window in sheers so the room floods with light. Japandi does less of everything, in oak and linen. The moody version goes the other way entirely, painting the walls deep green, adding built in bookcases and letting brass lamplight do the work daylight was doing.
Style notes
- Coastal reads largest. Pale walls and sheer curtains push the boundaries outward

- Moody reads smallest and cosiest, on purpose. Dark walls pull the room in around you
