Coastal Living Room Ideas

Coastal done badly is a bowl of shells on a blue wall. Done well it is about light and texture: pale surfaces, natural fibre, and nothing heavy standing between you and the window.

After

What stayed the same

Same window, same mullions, same view of the street. Same ceiling, same angled wall on the right, same viewpoint. The television stayed too, in the same corner it was already in, which is worth pointing out because most redesign tools quietly delete the things you actually own.

What changed

Walls went to a creamy white rather than a cool one, which keeps the room from feeling clinical. The leather sofa became a white slipcovered one, and a matching armchair replaced the black recliner. The carpet is now pale wide plank with a jute rug over it, the drapes are white sheers, and the dark media console was swapped for a whitewashed oak one.

Style notes

These designs are AI visualisations of one space, with the walls, windows and layout held constant. That is what Recasa does with a photo of your own space. Furniture and finishes are visualisations, not photographs of a finished build.
