AI Interior Design: An Empty Nook to a Palm Beach Breakfast Room
An empty space with one good window already has its focal point. The design question is what to build around it, and how much to leave alone.
What stayed the same
The arched window is identical in both frames, down to the grid of panes and the palms outside it. The side windows on the left and right walls are in the same positions. The crown moulding, the baseboard and the pale oak floor are all unchanged, and the walls stay the same warm cream. The camera has not moved.
What changed
Pale blue cabinetry now flanks the arched window, with a banquette running between them in a green floral. A round oak table sits in front of it with four rattan chairs. A wicker dome pendant replaced the small flush light, roman shades went onto the side windows, a faded coral rug went under the table, and botanical prints on the left and a lamp on the right finish the side walls.
Style notes
- Palette: cream walls, pale blue cabinetry, natural rattan and oak, coral in the rug
- The banquette is built to the window sill, so the window still reads full height
- A wicker pendant hung low over the table pulls the ceiling down to eating height without any paint
- The rug is faded on purpose. A crisp new rug would fight the window
